Water Department

The Primary Goal of the Water Department is to protect the health and general welfare of the citizens we serve by proper treatment, storage, and distribution of drinking water.

The City of Elmendorf Water System services not only within the corporate city limits of Elmendorf but a large portion of the surrounding area. The boundaries of our water territory are defined in our Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (or CCN) with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). See map below to view the area our water department serves.

If you have an after-hour water related emergency, please call the Water Department Supervisor at 210-669-1270. If your water has been shutoff due to nonpayment, please wait to be contacted by the next business day.

Water Information You Need to Know:

The City of Elmendorf currently purchases all of its water from the San Antonio Water System (SAWS).

The water in our distribution lines is tested by us daily for chlorine levels, monthly for bacteria and annually for all other possible contaminants and mineral levels. Our water system has met or exceeded the standards for water quality set by the TCEQ for many years. We will mail out a report of our water quality annually to all water customers each summer.

No more than one connection is allowed per meter. Each home or living area shall be separately metered. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in the termination of water service according to State Law until the violation is corrected.

Please notify the Water Clerk whenever you change your phone number in order to reach you in the event of a problem or emergency.
