Qualifications Pursuant to Texas Election Code Section 22.032:

(a) To be eligible for the office of mayor of the municipality, a person must be a registered voter in territory and must have resided within the municipal limits for twelve (12) months preceding the election day. For purposes of this subsection, residency in an area while the area was not within the municipal limits is considered as a residency within the limits if the area is part of the municipality on election day.

(b) To be eligible for the office of alderman of the municipality, a person must be a registered voter in territory, must reside in the State of Texas one (1) year prior to the filing deadline, and must reside within the city six (6) months prior to the filing deadline.

​A May 4, 2024 General Election for the City of Elmendorf will be held at the Elmendorf City Hall, located at 8304 FM 327 Elmendorf, TX 78112 to elect a Councilmember for the Place of Mayor, Place #3, and Place #5 for a two-year term.  The first day for a candidate to file an application for a place on the ballot is January 17, 2024. The last day to file is February 16, 2024 by 5:00 pm.  The application should be submitted to the City Secretary in person, by mail, or any other method of transmission during the filing period.  Applications must be received by the City Secretary by the deadline.  All applications will be dated and time stamped.  Late applications will not be accepted. If you are mailing your application, please note that the application contains an oath that must be administered by a Notary Public or other individual qualified to administer an oath in the State of Texas.  Notary Public services are available for your ballot application free of charge.

Early Voting Schedule

The last day to register to vote in order to be eligible to vote in the May 2024 Election is May 4, 2024.
Voting booths will be available at Elmendorf City Hall for early voting and Election Day.
